- When it comes to food guinea pigs need special care and in this post I am going to be teaching you what that special care contains.
Let's start with how much to feed.
About 80% of their diet is hay.
About 10% fresh veggies.
And about 5% food pellets
How often?
1 cup of fresh veggies per pig
per day.
1/8 cup pellets per pig per day.
And be sure to fill their hay rack
with fresh hay daily.

Let's talk about fruits!
It is not good to over feed fruits as they contain a lot
of natural sugars and calcium. The recommended
fruit feeding schedule is 1-2 times a week in small
portions.
Treats!
A lot of store bought treats that claim to be
safe for guinea pigs contain unhealthy and
unnecessary ingredients such as dairy
products and nuts. So make sure you
read the ingredients before you buy!
I would recommend homemade treats.
